Castle Garden - Guard's Palace

Exhibition hall

The Neo-Renaissance Várkert Bazár, built on the plans of Miklós Ybl, is part of the World Heritage Site. The Guard's Palace was originally built for the royal bodyguards. In World War II, he suffered serious damage and the life-threatening building complex was closed in 1984. In 2011, the complete reconstruction of the Várkert Bazár was started, and the Ybl-designed building complex was handed over to the general public in April 2014. With the opening of the Várkert Bazár, the capital has been enriched with a new cultural and community space, where every age group can find an interesting program, whether it is a concert or an exhibition. The complex also provides temporary exhibitions, outdoor and indoor events.
