Goldberger collection of Textile And Clothing Industry

Museum

After the regulation of 1954, declaring the mandatory conservation of every engineering industry’s historical memories, industries started opening their own museums. The Postal Museum, the Musem of Mining, Mettalurgy, and Chemical Engineering were soon created. Following them, the Museum of Textile and Clothing Industry opened in 1968. The museum is hosted in the former residence of the Goldberger family, one of the most flourishing textile merchants in Budapest during the 18th, the 19th and the 20th century. The visitor can learn about blue-dying and screen-printing through interactive exhibits, about the machinery that was revolutionary for its time.
