The Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism was founded in 1966. As an industry history museum, its collection contains catering-industry and trade history relics, its exhibition material is collected from the area of Hungary. The trade history relics collection consists of signboards, name-boards, store furniture and equipment, tools and scales etc. The catering history relics collection includes furniture, equipment and tools from restaurants and confectioner's shops. The museum also has a specialized library. The museum preserves the past but it aims to serve the future as well, it is also at the disposal of cultural institutions and of the sectors and schools of the profession.
