The Hungarian National Gallery was established in 1957 as the very first independent Hungarian museum of fine art. The National Gallery is the largest public collection documenting and presenting the rise and development of fine arts in Hungary. The pernament exhibitions allows the visitor to get an overview of Hungarian fine arts , with pieces from the establishment of Hungary to the 10th century to contemporary art. The temporary exhibitions allow in-depth presentation of oeuvres.
