The predecessor of Óbudai Museum was established in 1973, on the 100th anniversary of the unificiation of Pest, Buda and Óbuda.

Óbuda Museum is the place where tradition and modernity converges, it preserves local culture with cutting edge museological and museum educational methods. It is a meeting point for multiple generations, a scene for informal learning. The Óbuda Museum’s new permanent exhibition presents the rich history of Óbuda in three units, from the Middle Ages to the 1970s, endevauring to connect past and present.
